About the course
Participants in the AHA's BLS course learn how to quickly identify a number of life-threatening events, provide effective chest compressions, administer suitable ventilations, and initiate the early use of an AED. Updated American Heart Association CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Guidelines reflect science and education.
Course Objectives:
Ideal CPR for newborns, children, and adults.
The elements of the BLS, in particular, the AHA Chain of Survival.
essential early AED use.
Utilizing a barrier device to provide efficient ventilation.
The value of teams in multi-rescuer CPR and how to function well as a team when performing multi-rescuer CPR.
For both adults and children, relief from foreign body airway blockage (choking).
Target Audience:
Healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a variety of in-facility and prehospital settings should take the BLS Course offered by the AHA.
